Programme proposal for a folk dance group (7 days, 6 nights)

1st day:

17.00   arrival at the hotel in Budapest, warm-hearted welcome with champagne,

           occupation of the rooms, dinner with music

2nd day:

09.00   departure to Esztergom

10.00   visiting the Cathedral, which is the biggest church in Hungary

11.45   departure to Tata

13.00   lunch in Tata

14.30   visit to the King Sigismund’s castle

16.00   rehearsal on the stage, changing possibility

17.00   performing together with the PÖTÖRKE Folk Dance Group

           in the culture centre of Tata

19.30   dinner with the members of the PÖTÖRKE Folk

           Dance Group in Tata

21.30   departure to Budapest

23.00   arrival at the hotel

3rd day:

08.30   departure to Lake Balaton

11.00   visit to the Abbey of Tihany

13.00   lunch in Tihany

14.30   bathing at Lake Balaton

           (in case of cold weather: trip to the surrounding area)

18.00   appearance on the open-air stage on the pier of Balatonfüred

19.30   dinner in Balatonfüred

21.00   departure to Budapest

23.30   arrival at the hotel

4th day:

09.30   departure to the Buda Castle

10.00   visit to the royal castle, the Matthias Church and

           the Halászbástya (Fisherman’s Bastion)

12.00   free time in the city centre (Váci street, pedestrianized streets)

13.30   lunch in Budapest

15.00   sightseeing (Heroes’ square, Vajdahunyad Castle)

16.00   departure to the Puszta (Lajosmizse)

17.30   Puszta programme

           welcome with apricot brandy and savoury scones

           horse and buggy ride, horse-show, riding possibility

           dinner with gipsy music at the village inn

21.00   departure to Budapest

22.00   night tour of the Budapest lights

23.00   arrival at the hotel

5th day:

10.00   departure to Visegrád

11.00   visit to the Castle of King Matthias or free time

           at the all year bobsleigh run

12.15   departure to Esztergom

13.00   lunch in Esztergom

15.00   departure to Leányvár

15.30   visit to the local museum of Leányvár

16.00   rehearsal on stage, changing possibility

17.00   perform together with the Leányvár German

           National Folk Dance Group in the culture house

19.00   dinner with music with the members of the folk dance group

22.00   departure to Budapest

22.45   arrival at the hotel

6th day:

10.00   departure to Margitsziget

10.30   stroll at the Margitsziget (Margaret Island)

11.00   river cruise

12.15   departure to Szentendre

13.00   lunch in Szentendre

15.00   visit to the Kovács Margit Ceramic Museum or free time

17.00   departure to the wine-cellar (Kesztölc)

18.00   wine-cellar party with music and wine-tasting (6-8 wine varieties)

           Hungarian dinner with unlimited wine

22.00   departure to Budapest

23.00   arrival at the hotel

7th day:

09.30   home journey
